About the Colliers at Pontrhydyfen

The Colliers has been serving the people of Pontrhydyfen as a public house for generations. Through the years it has grown from a small 'one bar local' into a thriving bar and restaurant that attracts visitors from throughout the region and further afield.

The businesss was taken over by John and Vicki Rawlinson in May of 2001. In only a few months, John earned a reputation for top quality cuisine that combines traditional values, local produce and real culinary flair! Vicki meanwhile completes the Colliers experience by ensuring that every guest receives a warm welcome with attentive and knowledgeable service.

The restaurant is open five nights a week (closed Sunday and Tuesday night except for functions), and serves a justifiably famous Sunday Lunch. Children are very welcome throughout the day and we are happy to provide a child's portion of any dish on the menu, a spare plate to share Mum's and Dad's dinner or a selection of top quality 'child-friendly' dishes. Throughout the day there are a selection of tempting light meals available in the bar, ranging from traditional Scampi to the delicious rib eye steak salad!

In the bar, you will find a selection of popular beers spirits and soft drinks alongside a surprisingly adventurous wine list. You will NOT find a jukebox or a fruit machine - sorry!
